Zikhali Executive Associates is led by Dr Clifford Nxomani, whose career spans approximately 35 years across executive leadership, research management, science and innovation, higher education and institutional development.

Dr Clifford Nxomani.
Founding Director & Principal ConsultantDr Clifford Nxomani brings extensive leadership experience across South Africa's higher education, research, science and innovation sectors.
His career has included executive responsibility at the National Research Foundation, leadership of the National Zoological Gardens of South Africa, strategic advisory work within the Central University of Technology, and involvement in major national research-infrastructure initiatives.
As Deputy Chief Executive responsible for National Research Infrastructure Platforms at the National Research Foundation, Dr Nxomani provided executive oversight of five research and high-technology business units comprising more than 900 staff, annual budgets of approximately R2–R3 billion and an asset base of around R3 billion.
His experience includes strategic leadership, organisational governance, research infrastructure, human capital development, institutional transformation, programme management, stakeholder engagement and executive advisory.
